While students head on holiday for 6 weeks over the summer, schools are closed and teachers relax, the Trees for Survival shade houses are at their most active! Weather conditions are perfect for summer plant growth and as facilitators start doing the rounds of each of their schools in January and February, TfS are expecting to be able to share more photos of amazing summer plant growth. Karamu and Manuka in particular can put on a lot of growth over the summer and some plants will need to be trimmed again to keep them healthy and sturdy until planting day in Autumn.
