Taking part in the Trees for Survival programme confers a wide range of benefits on teachers and students. This includes:
- Meeting the science and technology objectives in the New Zealand Curriculum.
- Extending students' knowledge of native plants and their environment.
- Being a catalyst for involvement in other environmental programmes within school e.g. recycling, worm farms, composting and stream monitoring.
- Students gaining horticultural skills by growing plants.
- Achievement and success by tackling serious environmental issues such as erosion, water quality and improving biodiversity.
- Opportunities to involve the wider community.
Trees for Survival management supplies teaching resources and videos to help assimilate the Trees for Survival programme into the school and curriculum.
SCHOOLS:: Ordering supplies
Teachers in Auckland schools requiring additional supplies can download an Order Form and send it to Trees for Survival. Please allow at least two weeks for delivery. Download
Teachers in TFS schools outside of Auckland use this Order Form. Download.
SCHOOLS:: PGU Maintenance
Normal wear and tear may require that your PGU needs some maintenance. Trees for Survival will normally arrange for these minor repairs at now cost to the school.
More serious damage to your PGU may be caused by vandalism or damage other than normal wear and tear. In such case the school insurance will need to cover the cost of repairs.
Whatever, the nature of the damage you can download our Request for Repair Quotation Form and email it as directed on the form.
SCHOOLS:: Permission to publish photographs
Photographs are frequently taken of children involved in Trees for Survival activities. Many schools require that they must grant permission before any of these photographs may be published by Trees for Survival.
